Financial Accountant - Compliance

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Financial Accountant to join our finance team at Lincolnshire Co-op. In this role, you will be instrumental in setting up a robust framework for process documentation, risk assessment and control mechanisms. You will review our current position and ensure the completion of documentation for all processes, risks and controls in compliance with the established framework.

Your responsibilities will include assisting in the identification and implementation of process improvement opportunities and key risk areas, as well as completing recommendations from internal audit results related to finance. You will be tasked with preparing annual statutory accounts in compliance with current accounting and statutory requirements for all entities and managing the year-end external audit and pensions audit processes, ensuring timely completion.

Additionally, you will be responsible for the review and filing of indirect and direct taxes and other regulatory forms and submissions, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar) and demonstrate a detail-oriented and highly organised approach with a strong background in accounting and compliance. You have a proven track record in setting up frameworks for process documentation, risk assessment and control mechanisms. Your experience in preparing statutory accounts and managing external audits is essential for this role.
 
The successful candidate will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, allowing you to identify and implement process improvements and key risk areas effectively. Your ability to complete recommendations from internal audits and ensure compliance with accounting and statutory requirements is crucial.

You will be adept at managing multiple tasks and deadlines, ensuring all regulatory submissions are accurate and timely. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills enable you to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, both internally and externally.
